Frankfort, KY — HD Construction, in partnership with Wehr Constructors, has completed the installation of structural metal trusses at the new Elkhorn Elementary School in Frankfort, Kentucky—marking a key milestone in the early stages of construction and keeping the project on track.

The truss installation establishes the structural framework for the new elementary school and enables the next phases of framing, MEP coordination, and interior buildout. HD Construction executed the work using disciplined sequencing, equipment-assisted placement, and just-in-time material staging to maintain productivity while supporting site safety and schedule objectives.

“Early structural milestones like truss installation are critical to maintaining project momentum,” said Owner Donnie Proffitt. “Completing this phase allows the entire project team to move forward with confidence.”

HD Construction’s scope on the project includes structural metal trusses, light-gauge metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, insulation systems, and interior wall assemblies. The team worked closely with Wehr Constructors and adjacent trades to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment with downstream construction activities.

To mark this milestone, HD Construction is showcasing newly released project video and photography highlighting the truss installation process and early site progress. These visuals provide insight into HD Construction’s approach to structural framing, coordination, and execution on active education projects.

Construction at Elkhorn Elementary School is ongoing, with framing and interior work continuing as the project advances toward future milestones.
